Preparing for the 2020-2021 School Year: Tips, Resources, and New Updates

The 2020-2021 school year has now started, and it will be unlike any other we have experienced due to COVID-19. With the new school year about to begin, CC YES wants to help you navigate the months ahead and keep you informed of new updates. Each day we are getting more information on what the school year will look like. Many parents are looking for ways to support their child’s at-home learning, as well as guidance for when in-person classes resume. At CC YES, we want to help ensure students are provided with the tools they need to succeed. Here are some tips and resources to ease the transition into the new and different school year.

Back to School Tips

    • Stay organized. Keeping a schedule for your child’s new at-home routine can help them manage time and maintain focus.
    • Utilize available resources. In addition to all of the available resources online, getting in touch with your child’s teacher, librarian or counselor can be a helpful source of information.
    • Prepare your child for new safety protocols they will find when they return to school such as social distancing, wearing a mask, and general hygienic measures.
    • Spend some time at the end of the day to check-in with your child to review what they’re learning to ensure they are staying on track. Also set aside some stretching to get your child moving.
